Car re tests for older drivers

O lder drivers should be regularly tested to prove they're safe on the road, a survey found.

Three quarters of those asked by YouGov for used car website Motors.co.uk want to see compulsory sight, hearing and muscle strength testing for the over 60's.

Britain has more than 15 million drivers aged 60 plus and a million over 80.

Presently, all drivers over the age of 70 are sight tested.
