Road Runners Safety Event Benfleet

E ssex County Council's road safety team held a Road Runners interactive educational event aimed at year 11 (16-18 year olds) at King John School, Benfleet, on Friday 24th February 2012.

Students from the school were invited to attend for a full day of activities where they participated in various practical experiences of road safety.  Hazard perception, laws on drink driving and seat belts were addressed and all students had the chance to drive a car under the supervision of a Karen's School of Motoring professional driving instructor. 

The event was organised by the local Road Safety Officer, and included partners from Essex Police, Essex Fire & Rescue Service.  The Essex Casualty Reduction Board, which aims to reduce road casualties across the county, also supports the event.
