Snow and adverse weather conditions

06 January, 2010

T he country has come to a near halt due to the snow, although most of our roads have been passable in Essex.

Hopefully, you have managed to continue your driving lessons whilst we have had the snow conditions over the last couple of weeks.  This would have given you invaluable experience of driving in these conditions, particularly with guidance from your instructor.

we also recognise many of you may have had practical driving tests booked and the DSA are not so forgiving regarding driving in these conditions.  Their advice is simply;

Weather conditions/ mechanical problems etc
"DSA do not conduct tests in bad light or in adverse weather conditions for the safety of the candidate and the examiner.  We will arrange another appointment at no further cost, but compensation is not payable.  Candidates should call the telephone number quoted on the appointment letter to check whether their test will go ahead.

If the driving test is not completed for reasons attributable to you or your vehicle, you will have to take another test at your own cost."

Let us know of your driving or DSA driving test experiences in the snow.
